Welcome to ClassCo's VoiceAnnounce® Communicator for Skype™ Speech Setup Guide.
Now that you've installed VoiceAnnounce® Communicator for Skype™, lets set up Speech Recognition for your computer. First open the Start Menu, then click on the button that says "Control Panel".
Now that the Control Panel is open, find and double click on the Speech Icon.
On this screen make sure that it's using the correct recognizor for your operating system. Under windows XP this will be Microsoft English Recognizer 5.1 (shown below). Under Vista this will be Microsoft English Recognizer 7.0, Vista will NOT work with Microsoft English Recognizer 5.1. Click on the button marked Audio Input.
Make sure that Microsofts Speech Libraries are using the same device that Skype is using to record your voice. Make sure use this device is selected, and you should be able to select any sound input device attached to your computer. Click OK, to return to the Speech Properties window.
This step is required for Windows Vista users, and optional for Windows XP users. From the Speech Properties screen, click on Train Profile and follow the onscreen instructions. After you have done the speech training the computer will be more accurate in recognizing your speech.
